Accuracy and Data Characterization Analysis in Precision Agriculture Using MATLAB

Published by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org

Citation:  Paper number  021044,  2002 ASAE Annual Meeting . @2002
Authors:   John K. Schueller, Jodie D. Whitney, T. Adair Wheaton, Luiz A. Balastreire
Keywords:

One of the most important technological trends in contemporary agriculture is spatially-variable crop production, unfortunately commonly known by the vague non-descriptive term “precision agriculture”. Spatially-variable crop production obviously is the management of crop production while understanding and acting upon the spatial variability that is inherent in growing crops. This has been a group of technologies which has seen great research efforts and substantial, although not majority, commercial adoption. The technologies hold out the promise of reducing crop production costs and environmental impacts.
